Kawio Island or Pulau Meares – The Outer of Indonesian Archipelago

Report of Team ‘Ekspedisi Garis Depan Nusantara’ An Indonisan Frontier Expedition on the outer islands, or in the front line islands of Indonesia. This post, is report of Kawio Island or Pulau Meares or Pulau Kawio expeditions, the North Island of Indonesia Central, North Sulawesi province. This expedition is an initiative of Wanadri Indonesian Environmentalists and Cultural Communities Houses Archipelago. This activity is supported by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Transportation, Indoneisa Navy, Bakosurtanal (Coordinating Agency for Surveys and Mapping Agency), Medco Energy, Kompas, Trans TV, and Trans-7.

The archipelagic baselines of Indonesia in the Natuna Sea

  1. The archipelagic baselines in the Natuna Sea have been established with due respect to existing Treaty and Agreement with neighboring State concerning the maritime areas which constitute Indonesia’s archipelagic waters.
  2. Indonesia’s archipelagic baselines in the Natuna Sea are established at the outermost points at the low-water line of the outermost islands as follows.

Tokongmalangbiru Island – The Outer of Indonesian Archipelago

Tokongmalangbiru Island – Group of Ananbas Island, Indonesia

Tokongmalangbiru island located in the Natuna Sea waters, exactly in the Group of Anambas Islands and direct border with Malaysia. The island is shaped boulders on which there is a lighthouse. Amid this stone there is an inscription indicating the island including the outer islands of Indonesia.

Administratively, the island Tokongmalangbiru Kiabu included in the Village area, District Siantan, Natuna regency, Riau Islands Province. The island is uninhabited because it is not feasible to be occupied.

Geographically, Tokongmalangbiru Island is located at coordinates 020 18 ’00 “N and 1050 35′ 47″ longitude. In this island there is No Basis Point. TD No. 022 and the Reference Point. TR 022.

Tokongmalangbiru Island can be accessed through the trip from Batam to Palmatak (Matak island’s capital) using pertintis plane, followed by speed boat to hire Letung (the capital island of skull). Coral Reef Bleaching attacked Wakatobi, South Sulawesi, Indonesia

Coral reefs in the Wakatobi region, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia is currently considered the most sustainable in the triangle area of coral reefs worldwide. Will however, recently increased sea temperatures cause coral bleaching Wakatobi attacked. “One week ago, I encountered there diving and coral reef bleaching attacked. Bleaching occurs in an area approximately 20 meters by 30 meters square, “said Regent Wakatobi Hugua, Development Cooperation in the inauguration of Biodiversity Research at Jakarta. Anambas Island District – The Outer of Indonesian Archipelago

Anambas Islands Indonesia

Anambas Islands District (District of Anambas Constellation Islands) is a maritime district located in the South China Sea between east and west Malaysia and Kalimantan are in the administrative area of Riau Islands province.

The island group is part of the Riau Islands Province, and are sometimes included in the larger Natuna Islands, located several hundred kilometers to the east. Anambas have a large reserve of natural gas that is exported to countries such as Singapore and Malaysia. The island of Matak is the main base for oil exploration.

Anambas Island District geographically positioned 1 degree 30 minutes – 3 degrees 30 minutes south latitude and 105 degrees 20 minutes – 106 degrees 50 minutes east longitude. Was broad area of about 47040.6 square km, with an area of only 996.6 land area sq km while the rest is ocean.

As a maritime district Anambas area includes many islands, no less than 238 large and small islands are the region, about 212 islands which are not islands uninhabited. Five islands, of which (more…)
