Carnival Cruise Lines is the cruise line of British-American owned, based in the Miami suburb of Doral, Florida in the United States. Originally an independent company founded in 1972 by Ted Arison, the company is now one of eleven brand cruise ship owned and operated by Carnival Corporation & plc. This company has the largest fleet in the group, with 21 ships currently in operation. Executive control is provided by the company North American division of Carnival Corporation, headquartered in Doral, Florida
Carnival was a pioneer in the concept of a shorter, cheaper cruises. Its boats known for their Las Vegas-style decor and entertainment. Line vessels call The Fun Ships, and there are various activities offered on board. trademark is the smoke stack, or funnel, which is red, white and blue and shaped like a whale tail. Mascot for Carnival is “Fun Ship Freddy”, a character in the form of Carnival’s distinctive funnel.
In 1996, from 101 000 tons Carnival Destiny gets dirty on the world’s largest passenger ship at that time. In 2004, Carnival Corporation orders for new ship construction programs Carnival, called the Pinnacle Project, which calls for a prototype 200 000 GT, which is supposed to be the largest cruise ship in the world. In 2009, the newest and largest ship in the fleet of Carnival Carnival is a Dream, a new ship 130 000 tonnes gross. Carnival Dream entered service on September 21, 2009. After several cruises in the Mediterranean he’s set to offer Caribbean cruises from Cape Canaveral weekly from December 5, 2009. A sister ship, Carnival Magic, set to debut in June 2011. On December 1, 2009, it was announced that the Carnival Dream to order a ship-class III . It will enter service in spring 2012 .. On May 10, 2010, Carnival chosen names for their new Dream-class vessels in 2012; the Breeze Carnival.
